Kidambi Srikanth wins Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold Championship
onTop Indian Badminton Player, Kidambi Srikanth won the men’s singles title at the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold Badminton Championship on Sunday, also he earned $120, 000 prize money of the championship.
Winning Match of Kidambi Srikanth in Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold Badminton Championship
Kidambi defeated Viktor Axelsen 21-15, 12-21, 21-14 in 47 minutes in their first career meeting. He also made history in Indian male badminton-ship after becoming the first Indian male who the title, while in females Saina Nehwal has already clinched crowns in 2011 and 2012.
This was not an easy win for Kidambi Srikant as the World Number 6 champion Axelson gave a tough fight to the former. He did not allow the World Number 4 champion, Kidambi to dominate till the second game.The hyderabadi player struggled a lot and Axelson won five straight points to win the game from 16-12 and also leveled the match at one game all at one point.

The two Shuttlers gave neck to neck fight as no one was ready to give up, and from 13-all, Srikant showed his best techniques making Axelsen managed to win one of the next nine points only.
Srikant won his second Grand Prix Gold Title, and this was his first title of the year after he lost the Indian Open Grand Prix Gold final in lucknow in January.
Kidambi will play from March 24 to March 2015 at the India Open Super Series.
