Who was Ali Baba’s Brother?

Qasim was the brother of Ali Baba. He was very greedy and had thrown Ali Baba out of his house, and grabbed the entire business. As a result Alibaba was forced to live with his wife in a forest in poverty.

After throwing out of the house, Ali Baba started living in a forest. He would cut trees for his livelihood and sell them in the market to earn money.

One day when he was in the forest he saw 40 horsemen coming there. The all had lots of money in their money bags and daggers. Ali Baba quickly understood they all are thieves and started watching them. He hid behind a tree and saw that the leader of the group of thieves was standing in front of the hill while others stood near a mountain. The leader said “Open up Sim-Sim(khul ja sim sim)”.

The moment the leader said “Open up Sim Sim” , the door of a cave opened in the mountain and all the horse riders went inside the cave. Once they all entered inside the cave the leader again said “Stop Sim-Sim”, and the door closed.

Was Ali Baba in real?

No, Ali Baba was one of the main character in the story titled Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.

It’s also in the story of One thousand and one Nights. It was added to it as a folk tale by its French translator Antoine Galland. The translator had heard this tale from the Syrian Maronite storyteller Hanna Diyab.

Ali Baba show was premiered on Indian TV on 22 August 2022 on Sony SAB channel. It is also digitally streamed on SonyLIV. Name of the show is “Alibaba: Daastan-e- Kabul”. In the show Sheezan Mohammed Khan is playing role of Ali Baba, and Tunisha Sharma as the princess Mariam.

Unfortunately the actress Tanisha Sharma committed suicide on 24 December 2022 on the sets of the show.

The show is created by Alind Srivastava and Nisser Parvej. Director of the show are Maan Singh Manku and Ravi Bhushan.
