CDS Bipin Rawat Passes away in an unfortunate Incident
onWith deep regret the Indian Air Force has declared that Chief Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife Mrs. Madhulika Rawat and 11 other persons on board in the aircraft that crashed in Tamil Nadu on 8th December, 2021 have died in the incident.
One of the soul survivor, Group Captain Varun Singh is serious and being treated for his 90 percent burn injuries.
Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also mourned on the unfortunate incident, “Deeply anguished by the sudden demise of Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 other Armed Forces personnel in an extremely unfortunate helicopter accident today in Tamil Nadu”.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also mourned and considered the accident an unprecedented tragedy. He paid his condolences on twitter, “I extend my condolences to the family of Gen Bipin Rawat and his wife. This is an unprecedented tragedy and our thoughts are with their family in this difficult time. Heartfelt condolences also to all others who lost their lives,” he wrote on Twitter.
A committee has been setup to investigate the actual cause of crash as normally when such VVIP people are on boarded in a plane there are multiple round of testing of the craft before flying. Once fully tested and signed by the authorities pilots can fly the craft.
