Difference between Diwali and Deepawali
Diwali and Deepawali both are the names we use for the celebration of this festival of lights. But the real name is “Deepawali” which means a ‘line of lamps’. This word is mainly used in Southern part of India but has been modified by the people of India who hail from North parts.
What is the meaning of Deepawali?
As mentioned above Deepawali comes from a Sanskrit term ‘dipavali’ that means ‘line or row of lights. On this day people light lamps of ghee or oil to welcome the goddess Lakshmi to their house.
