People in Muslim families in Kashmir are often conservative and same was the case with Iram Habib. She had to go through a lot of hurdles to purse her dreams. Iram completed here pilot training from Miami in 2016 in US and became a commercial pilot there.
As per recent studies it is clear that people are becoming liberate and giving chance to their girl child also to chase their dreams. In 2017, 21-year-old Ayesha Aziz became the youngest pilot student in the valley.
Who is Iram Habib?
Iram Habib became the first Kashmiri Muslim woman to become a pilot. Earlier to Iram, Tanvi Rana had become the first Kashmiri Hindu Pandit who became the pilot. She holds the record of becoming the first pilot from valley in 2016.
Early Life of Iram Habib
30-year-old Iram Habib, always had a dream to go in aviation industry but was always discouraged by her family. She studied Bachelor’s and Masters degree in Forestry from Dehradun and Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir respectively. But her dream of becoming a pilot never left her.
