Early Life of Radha Yadav Cricketer

Radha Yadav was originally born in Ajoshi village of Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh. She did her initial schooling from the village itself.

She completed her intermediate examination from from KN Inter College Banki.

She is youngest of the four siblings. Radha Yadav’s father was associated with the dairy industry and had a small shop for daily necessities items.

Radha Yadav’s Love for Cricket

Radha had love for cricket since very starting. She starting playing it just at the age of six only. Radha had come to Mumbai from Uttar Pradesh to take cricket coaching with her father.

His father’s original residence is Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh. His sister’s name is Suman Yadav. His coach’s name is Prafulla Nayak. Radha is the youngest of four siblings.

She would often play with the local boys of her society, as a result people would make fun of her. Where she was noticed by his coach Prafulla Nayak. He continued to teach Radha from the age of 12. He later transferred her from “Anandibai Damodar Kale Vidyalaya” to “Our Lady of Remedy“, Kandivali in 2013 to practice. Here she also attended Vidya Kunj School.

Radha did not have the money to buy a cricket kit and a bat. Then she used to try making wooden bats. Her father used to drop her by bicycle till the stadium in Rajendra Nagar, 3 km from the house. While returning back to home sometimes she would take a Tempo or by foot many times.

Radha Yadav’s International Cricket Debut

  1. On 13 February 2018, Radha made debut in women’s 20-20 international match against the South Africa women’s cricket team. She was then selected in the Indian squad for the ICC Women’s World 20-20 tournament organised in the West Indies in October 2018. In this tournament, Radha was the joint leading wicket-taker for India with 8 wickets in 5 matches.
  2. In January 2020, she was re-selected in the Indian squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. On 9 November 2020, Radha became the first T20 player of the Women’s T20 Challenge to take 5 wickets in the final of the Women’s T20 match.
  3. In February 2021, she was selected in India’s Women’s One Day International squad for their series against South Africa.
  4. She made her ODI debut for India against South Africa on 14 March 2021.
  5. In May 2021, she was selected in India’s Test squad for her only match against the England women’s cricket team.
  6. She also played cricket for the Sydney Sixers in the Women’s Big Bash League in 2021.
