CAREER IN NAVY

After graduation Carter joined the United States Navy where he serving various submarines. He lost his father in the year 1953, and so had to leave his career in navy and came back to his home in Plains.

After the death of his father, Jim Carter came back to his home in Plains and started looking after his family’s peanut-growing business. His father had some debts so Carter had to pay off those and also there was a sharing of the business among his siblings also. During this time only he became more interested in politics also.
