Ramayana was written by Tulsidas and in that he has mentioned that Shri Rama and his army took 504 hours to reach Ayodhya from Shri Lanka. We know that a day has 24 hours. So, if you divide 504 hours by 24 hours, you would get the result as 21 Days.

So, if you check the Google map to find the distance you would see that the the distance between Ayodhya and Shri Lanka is 3145 Kms and walking days to cover the distance is 21 days which is equal to 504 kms as mentioned in Ramayana
