India’s Wind energy pioneer is Tanti Tulsi, whom we lost on 1 October, 2022. He died all of a sudden due to cardiac arrest on his way to home from airport. Just before the moments he was busy in meetings related to his upcoming projects.

Early Life of Tulsi Tanti
Tulsi basically hailed from Rajkot, Gujarat.
Tulsi had studied Commerce and Engineering and his father was into construction business. But rather than joining his father’s business Tulsi started his Textile business along with his three other brothers.
When Tulsi started his Textile business he had to face lots of issues due to high electricity cost. So, he started looking for alternative source of energy. This made him commission two wind mills.
Suzlon into Existence
Tulsi Tanti formed Suzlon in 1995 with his brothers. He had to sell some of this family property to raise $600, 000 as seed capital.
In 2005 soon after listing Suzlon, he acquired Hanseen Transmission International of Belgium which is a leading gear manufacturing for wind turbines.
