8 Simple Tips to get More Youtube Subscribers and Views

You also have started your Youtube channel but still awaiting decent number of subscribers?

This is a story of almost all those who start and expect overnight success by seeing other successful Youtubers. But they hardly look into the journey the others have gone through.

Top 3 reasons for low views on Youtube Channel

There could be some of the reasons why your Youtube videos are not gaining views. Top three out of them are:

  1. Your videos are not great enough
  2. Less subscribers
  3. Youtube algorithm

This is the story of almost all the youtubers infact me also. I started my channel in the year 2016 casually and had only 13 subscribers till 2020. But since when the Covid-19 spread and people restricted themselves in their home due to lockdown, number of people watching youtube videos increased.

My one video which was hardly 30 seconds long got viral and I got 275+ subscribers within 2 days. You can also search that video by just entering search text “Maths Foldable“.

You can see this video suddenly got me more subscribers and watch hours. You never know which video can become overnight sensation so just keep on experimenting the ideas.

Also keep on changing the timings of the videos you upload. See if your video of a particular theme is getting more views at a particular period of time in a day. Also, keep on experimenting with the ideas, thumbnails etc.

8 Things to consider in your Youtube channel

  1. Select a Niche
Earlier I used to upload videos of any type or any niche so did not get the views as the viewers who subscribed would get confuse. Slowly, I got this metrics and started uploading only tips and tricks videos.

This way my channel has started being recognised as a particular niche channel and subscribers would come again and again to view the videos.
  2. Importance of Analytics
Earlier I would just focus on the subscribers count and the watch hour but slowly I started looking into the analytics also. That give more information about the geographies, type of audience and other factors that decide the videos success.

Never ignore analytics as that plays an important role in the success of a channel.
  3. Share your videos across other social media platform
I did have other social media platforms like twitter, Instagram, Facebook etc. but never used them to promote my videos. That was the biggest mistake I ever did.

Without telling how can you expect others to know about your videos unless and until your channel is a huge hit and has lots of subscribers. So, start sharing your videos using these social media platforms.
  4. Youtube SEO
SEO is a search engine optimisation technique to promote a video or article so that it can attract lots of viewers and traffic.

I never used that in my videos while uploading on youtube initially. But later learnt about that online and started using them in my videos. One important tip is to use hashtags relevant to your videos. But never use unnecessary hashtags which do not belong to your video as otherwise, that would have a negative impact rather than doing any good to your video.
  5. Be consistent on channel
Youtube also wants people to visit its platform and be more engaging. So, try to upload as much as you can and be interactive on this platform. Watch others videos also, share, comment and build your community.

If you do not upload for some time you may get dead. Youtube considers yourself inactive and dead if find you inactive for a longer time period.

Where your channel is a new, you can keep uploading 1-2 videos daily but once you have fixed your schedule, be stick to that. If it is one video in a week no problem you can do that. But a week should not become 2 more more than that.
  6. Make your videos interesting
If your 15 minutes long video is not interesting enough people would not watch it full and that would have a negative impact in your videos analytics.

For example, if your video is 10 minutes long and visitors are watching at maximum 3 minutes, Youtube would consider that a dull video. But if visitors are watching or 9 minutes Youtube would bring that video in good ranking and provide good analytics.
  7. Good Thumbnails
First impression is the last impression we know all. So, if your thumbnail is not catchy enough, chances of anyone clicking on that and watching videos is very less.

Play around with thumbnails and take ideas from other popular videos also.
  8. First 24 hours are critical
First 24 hours of your video upload are the most important time for judging the analytics of your video. So, just check the timing when you are going to upload a video or just think which type of video you watch at what time. Normally 1pm, 6pm are the time period in a day when people do surfing most of the time. So, try uploading your videos in these time.
